Roman von Ungern-Sternberg is one of the strangest, most violent, and most intriguing men in history. And yet he's relatively unknown today. In the middle of the Russian Revolution, this White Army officer went rogue with his army and conquered Mongolia. His methods were shocking, but his reason for doing all this is even more surprising.
