The microchip connected and accelerated human history in a way that few tools ever could. It was invented in 1958 by Jack Kilby and Robert Noyce, the integrated circuit condensed entire circuits into a small, single piece of silicon. 

This tool gave birth to the digital age and an information age that would make the printing press jealous. It revolutionized every facet of our existence in every corner of the world. It made real-time communication across the globe possible, automated industries, and brought computing power into homes. 

Similar to the printing press, it democratized information but at a rate that was once thought unimaginable. The microchip continues to evolve, driving the frontiers of medical science, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and space exploration.
